Papa and Grammy - Our Mardi Gras King and Queen
Every year, grammy and papa attend the Washington D.C. Mardi Gras ball. They bring the authentic Mardi Gras spirit, and as you can see, authentic Mardi Gras beads :).

Sandy and Brett Sweet Little Home is Move-in READY!
Sandy and Brett - and their team of devoted loved ones - have worked TIRELESSLY (ok, they actually went to bed exhausted every night) ever since they closed on their first home in November. They did a little more than replace light fixtures, paint all the trim and doors and put in new switch plates.
One of the very first projects they took on was ripping out the old carpet and replacing it ALL with beautiful new wood laminate flooring. Check out how great all these rooms look AFTER their work!

The kitchen was actually in great shape and clearly well kept when they bought it, but pleading for a renovation. You could tell how long it had been pampered because of the severely out-of-dated appliances and fixtures. They repainted the kitchen cabinets to a clean white, retouched all the trim work, ripped out the bar to create more open space, painted the walls green, installed a dishwasher where there never was one before and tiled the entire floor. They put in all new counter tops, new sink, new fixtures and ripped out the old drop-in stove top and cut out the cabinets to make room for a brand new freestanding gas range. They also ripped out the double wall oven to build a pantry. It's still a work in progress, but already looking delicious!

Can you believe this room! There is so much room to work in here! Lots of storage too. It's just off the kitchen and serves as the entrance from the backyard. They painted this room and continued the tile in here too. A new countertop is part of renovations stage 2.

They replaced the green tiled walls with classic white bead board, ripped out the carpet (yes carpet in the bathroom too :P) and replaced it with tile, refinished the antique vanity in a fresh white and topped it all off it new shimmering stainless fixtures throughout.

New tile, brand new 48 in. vanity, new 48 in. vanity mirror, and a 48 in. dressing room vanity light fixture. Perfect!
Amazing. Really. Seeing all these shots together really puts into perspective all the hard work Sandy, Brett, Marcelo, and many others put into this sweet little house! The Naquins are all tucked into their new home now and as happy as can be. We can't wait to see them all settled in and making it their very own.
